Syntech are recruiting for a talented and experienced Commercial Director/ Business development Director to join a well established UKAS accredited business based on the South Coast (based close to Brighton). The successful applicant will oversee the business operations, people & ventures and will be accountable for the overall success of the business.
Business Development Director duties;

  • Able to build a solid company culture
  • Establish professional business acumen in coop with Sales/HR/ICT/Finance but not limited to
  • Key Account Management to retain existing customers and leverage relationship to drive top-line growth
  • Commercial mindset and capabilities/track-record to drive double digit-growth
  • Experience with consolidating two locations into one and create one culture
  • Strong focus on health and safety and knows how to safeguard the business License to Operate
  • Extensive experience in your field (preferably in the TIC-industry), including a network
  • Entrepreneurship: Perseverance, persistence, creativity and making your numbers.
  • Organiser with sufficient flexibility (think this has to be more clarified compared to the job)
  • Firm stakeholder with plentiful management skills



Added responsibilities:

  • Hands on mentality and not being afraid to take necessary quick decision when needed
  • Develop and execute the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities



Business Development Director Profile

  • Proven experience in leading a sales function within an engineering / manufacturing / testing facility
  • Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
  • Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and measures of performance
  • Familiarity with corporate law and management best practices
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities
