Chartered Tooling Engineer

Salary: Upwards of £40k
Hours of work: 39 per week (Half day Friday)
Job Type: Permanent
Location: Newbury, West Berkshire

Syntech Recruitment are looking for a Chartered Tooling Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering business based in Newbury, West Berkshire.
As a Chartered Tooling Engineer, you will oversee co-ordination of IME activities during projects and co-ordination of prototype tooling for new products.
The daily duties of a Chartered Tooling Engineer include:

  • Co-ordination of IME activities during Project phase, including process flows, routing, BOMs etc
  • Preparation of PFMEA documents for new manufacturing processes
  • Preparation of CAPEX requests for new tooling's, gauges and other equipment
  • Ensuring full process capability and KPIs are being met
  • Preparation of technical specifications and standards for new tooling
  • Defining tooling control standards, working practices, standard operating and maintenance procedures


The Profile of a successful Chartered Tooling Engineer

  • Engineering Degree beneficial
  • Proven experience gaining in the delivery of new tools for manufacturing
  • Experience of continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma etc etc
  • 2D/3D Cad modelling experience (CREO ideally)
