Design Manager / Woking / Up to £100,000

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join a renowned Optical/Digital Instrumentation Manufacturer based near Woking. This role is integral to the success of the organisation and will involve close collaboration with Production Engineering, Quality, and the Machine Shop. Reporting to the Group Design & Development Director, the Design Manager will oversee a dedicated team of 11 professionals within the Design Department.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and motivating a multidisciplinary design team, ensuring the successful development of innovative products. Your duties will include:

  • Leading design projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
  • Collaborating with CAD/CAM Manufacturing and Production Engineers to optimize designs for manufacturing.
  • Managing engineering change processes and leading design reviews across relevant departments.
  • Providing personnel management and career development support for the Design team, in coordination with HR.
  • Maintaining design office systems for data, document, and process control, in compliance with ISO standards.

What We Are Looking For
We seek a dynamic and creative individual with significant experience in Design Management within relevant sectors such as Instrumentation, Optics/Microscopy, Imaging/Photonics, or similar. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and a strong background in engineering or science.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive remuneration (IRO £100,000 per annum) depending on experience.
