Electronics Support Engineer

Location: Woking, Surrey
£27-29k base salary
· The permanent, part-time position is 7:30am to 4:00pm
· Additional production bonus (variable but approx. 5% basic salary payable monthly in arrears)
· BUPA, non-contributory private medical insurance
· 24 days holiday per annum (plus additional Bank Holidays).

Syntech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electronics Support Engineer to work at our manufacturing base in Send, Woking. The position would suit an individual with at least 5 years' experience, comes from an electronics design background with experience of supporting manufacturing processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Ensure electrical/electronic testing is carried out in a safe manner especially when using high voltages.
· Design, create and maintain Test Boxes - to efficiently and accurately test the electronics within products being manufactured.
· Fault finding and repairing down to component level on analogue and digital circuitry, assisting the QA department with investigating and solving electronics issues.
· Surface mount and conventional component repairs.
· Undertake tasks to improve the overall test environment to provide more efficient and cost effective test solutions to the required quality standards.
· Creation and maintenance of test specifications and procedures.
· Interfacing with Design Department on New Product Introduction (NPI)
· Ensuring the correct test equipment and tools are available, fit for function and calibrated where applicable.
· Train production staff to carry out testing of sub-assemblies using fixtures and documentation supplied.
· Provide electronics assistance to Design Department when required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
· Candidates should be degree/HNC qualified in a relevant subject such as Electronic or Electrical Engineering.
· A strong understanding of Electronics Engineering principles is needed, ideally with a design background.
· Experienced electronic test equipment user is essential.
· Experience with PCB Tools is essential.
· Candidate must be an excellent problem solver.
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Must be able to self-manage, working on your own or a part of a team.
· Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Power Point is desirable
