About the Role
In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting apprentices to achieve their full potential, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours necessary to meet industry standards. You will be pivotal in assessing work, tracking off-the-job training, and supporting apprentices’ development in English and maths, ensuring all apprenticeships are successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Tracking:
    • Conduct regular assessments to monitor apprentice progress and maintain accurate records.
    • Track and report on off-the-job training to ensure compliance with apprenticeship standards.
  • Support and Development:
    • Provide one-to-one support to apprentices, guiding them through their apprenticeship journey.
    • Facilitate the development of English and maths skills as part of the apprenticeship program.
  • Liaison and Coordination:
    • Visit apprentices in their workplace to provide guidance and assess competency.
    • Collaborate closely with employers, mentors, and college teaching teams to support apprentices’ learning.

Candidate Profile
Industry Experience:

    • Proven experience in engineering, preferably within the utilities sector or a related industry.

Educational Background:

    • Hold a minimum Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
    • Possess an assessor’s award V1, TAQA, or equivalent (essential).
    • Hold a recognized teaching qualification (desirable).

Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with apprentices, employers, and colleagues.
    • Ability to work independently and manage own workload effectively.
