Location: West Berkshire
Salary: £30k - £40k
Hours: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Job Type: Permanent

An very busy manufacturing business in West Berkshire is seeking a technical engineering buyer to join an exceptional procurement team.

The responsibilities of an Engineering Buyer:

• Purchasing a range of complex mechanical components including castings and machined parts
• Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
• Building strong supplier relationships
• Negotiating for the best possible price
• Using the ERP system (Epicor)
• Following the Bill of Material structure (BOMs)
• Seeking new suppliers including for new / emerging technologies

The profile of a successful Engineering Buyer:

• Prior experience working within the automotive, aerospace or motorsport markets
• Has the ability to read and understand complex engineering diagrams / drawings
• Has a strong knowledge of engineering processes relating to castings and machined parts
• Strong procurement background
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
• Very well developed interpersonal and organisational skills
