Engineering Stores person

Our client, a Manufacturing & Maintenance business serving the food processing industry are currently looking for an experienced stores person to manage the day to day picking and packing of engineered parts. Ensuring parts are packed correctly for delivery and inputting necessary data onto the SAGE system. This role would suit someone with a background in an engineering stores with demonstrable experience of working with engineering departments and stakeholders within the business.


Pick, label, and pack parts ready for dispatch each day
Oversee collection of orders by parcel courier at the end of each day
Receive weekly consignment deliveries containing stock items, customer orders and parts for the service department. These must be separated and put into the correct stock location, hold area, or packed and sent to customers.
Maintain correct stock levels and adjust stock re-order levels and quantities where necessary
Organise store locations on a continual basis, give new stock items appropriate locations and relocate stock as required.
Assist the service team with parts requirements.
Ensure the packing area contains all essential packing consumables such as boxes, tape etc.
Assembly of parts from subcomponents using bill of materials and technical drawings.
General housekeeping of the stores and packing areas.
Assist with customer enquiries by identifying required parts using machine manuals and internal parts database.

Knowledge and Experience:
You should have knowledge and experience of packing parts to a high standard; parts must be packaged efficiently, in such a way to avoid damage in transit, whilst being well presented.

  • Previous experience working as a stores person / parts specialist / parts advisor

  • Previous experience with Sage Software
  • Forklift Counterbalance License


  • Previous experience using hand tools for assembly of parts would be advantageous

· Previous experience using technical drawings and assembly of parts ideal but not essential
