Key Responsibilities

  • Contract Management:
    • Oversee all elements of our commercial engineering contracts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
    • Foster and maintain strong relationships with employers, acting as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters.
    • Ensure the highest quality of education for our learners through meticulous contract management and performance monitoring.
  • Business Development:
    • Actively pursue new business opportunities by bidding and tendering for new contracts.
    • Identify and capitalise on new and existing markets to expand our business reach.
    • Develop and implement strategies to grow the engineering sector in alignment with the faculty’s development goals.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead and manage a diverse team of lecturing staff, assessors, training consultants, and contract managers.
    • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting professional growth and development.
    • Ensure the team works towards a shared objective of delivering the best possible learner experience and achieving high employer satisfaction.
  • Course Delivery Improvement:
    • Play a pivotal role in enhancing the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering commercial contracts.
    • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and course materials to improve educational outcomes.
    • Ensure courses are engaging, well-planned, and delivered both in person and remotely.
  • Teaching Responsibilities:
    • Deliver high-quality lessons across multiple levels, including Further Education (FE), Higher Education (HE), and Apprenticeships.
    • Utilise a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate different learning styles and ensure comprehensive understanding.
    • Continuously assess and refine lesson plans to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
  • Team Development:
    • Support the Head of Faculty in managing and developing the team to meet student and employer expectations.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to staff members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Ensure programmes of study are aligned with industry standards and result in high achievement.

Candidate Profile

  • Management Experience:
    • Extensive experience in management, with a proven track record of effective leadership in an educational setting.
    • Demonstrated history of teaching and learning within Further Education (FE) from Level 2 to Level 4.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Deep understanding of apprenticeship standards and industry-specific requirements.
    • Significant industry experience in Mechanical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Educational Background:
    • Degree or equivalent vocational qualification in a relevant field.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Proven experience in bidding, tendering, and winning contracts for new business.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
