Field Service Engineer – Installations, Servicing & Breakdown

Are you a time-served, multiskilled engineer with expertise in CNC machinery and a strong background in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems? Join our team as a Field Service Engineer, where your skills and expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality installations, servicing, and breakdown support for our valued customers.

Location / Hours

Location: UK-based, with nationwide travel required. Must be prepared for overnight stays depending on workload and job location.
Hours: Full-time, flexible hours based on job allocation; salaried position with no extra pay for overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installations: Carry out installations of CNC multi-spindle, multi-turret lathes, and other equipment at customer sites, adhering to technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Servicing: Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
  • Breakdowns: Diagnose and repair equipment faults, utilizing your electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic expertise to resolve issues promptly.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, effectively communicating with clients to keep them informed of work progress and offering technical support.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including installation reports, maintenance logs, and breakdown documentation.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies to ensure a safe working environment on-site and during travel.

Personal Characteristics & Skills

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience with CNC multi-spindle, multi-turret lathes, and strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills with a commitment to providing high-quality customer service.
  • Adaptable: Ability to work independently, manage your workload effectively, and adapt to varying job demands and locations.
  • Willingness to Travel: Must be prepared to travel across the UK and stay away from home when required.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential Experience:

  • Time-served, multiskilled engineer with a background in servicing and maintaining CNC machinery.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering qualifications or certifications.
  • Familiarity with technical documentation, service manuals, and maintenance best practices.
  • Full training will be provided in Spain and the UK.

Salary / Benefits

  • Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 per annum, based on skills and experience.
  • Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays.
  • Company Vehicle: Choice of van or car.
  • Equipment: Company-provided tools, laptop, and mobile phone.
  • Training: Extensive training provided in Spain and the UK to ensure full competency
