Junior Engineer

Salary: Up to £29,000
Location: Whitstable
Hours: Full-Time; 37.5 Hours per week
Week One: 6am to 2pm Monday to Friday
Week Two: 2pm to 10:30pm Monday to Thursday, 2pm to 7:30pm

This role is open for Trainees that are looking to expand their skillset further.

Junior Engineer Tasks:

• Carry out electroplating and metal finishing of components
• Follow the production plan and maintain accurate quality records.
• Identify and implement the correct method of jigging for a range of parts
• Safely handle chemicals in accordance with procedures within the plating department.
• Utilize x-ray spectrometer and other quality monitoring equipment to measure plating thickness and conduct visual inspections
• Understand and comply with departmental and company health and safety rules and procedures.

Junior Engineer Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

• Qualifications: GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, Grade C or above.
• Experience: Proven manufacturing experience; experience working within a team.
• Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and understand drawings, manufacturing instructions, process instructions, and specifications.
• Skills and Competencies:
  • Very high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Safety conscious.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

Desirable:

• Experience: Previous electroplating experience or relevant knowledge.
