Working Hours: Full-time, permanent weekend shift – Friday to Sunday, 12-hour shifts

Syntech Recruitment are partnering with our client to find a skilled Machine Setter/Operator to support their manufacturing operations over the weekend. This hands-on role focuses on setting up and operating 5-axis pallet machines to ensure continuous production throughout the weekend.

This is a permanent weekend shift, and applicants must be fully committed to working Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (12-hour shifts) on an ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis pallet machines to manufacture parts per supplied drawings.
• Understand CNC programs and tooling, though full programming expertise is not required.
• Ensure continuous operation of machinery over the weekend, troubleshooting as necessary.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications, including geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Load feed mechanisms by lifting stock into position.
• Verify parts by measuring critical dimensions at regular intervals, maintaining inspection records.
• Perform first-off approval with the Quality Department before batch production.
• Maintain equipment, completing preventative maintenance as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
• Ensure a safe working environment by following safety procedures and wearing required PPE.
• Document production and quality logs accurately.
• Support cleaning and packing duties as required.

Requirements

• Experience setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines (pallet-based systems preferred).
• Ability to understand CNC programs and tooling types.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and a hands-on approach.
• Ability to work independently over weekends to maintain machine uptime.
• Good understanding of quality control processes and measurement techniques.

This role offers a competitive hourly rate (€19 – €22), a stable long-term position, and the opportunity to work full-time hours condensed into just three days.
