A vacancy has arisen for a Syntech Recruitment are currently recruiting for a talented and experienced Procurement Manager for our client based out of there HQ close to Faversham, you will be tasked with overseeing a small group of buyers ensuring the strategic partnerships are continuing to develop with suppliers and empowering your buyers to think on their feet and using best practice tools to ensure an competitive supplier base. Duties Able to calculate batch sizes to both manage cost reduction and reduce in-house transactions whilst still optimising inventory levels to ensure product availability in collaboration with the Supply Chain Analyst. Promote Supplier Relationship Management and actively engage with key suppliers to address issues and identify potential opportunities to further develop collaboration and deliver continuous improvement of supplier performance (e.g. Costs, Service and Quality).
Strong focus on contract management, managing both tender and negotiation processes for new contracts and contract renewals.
strong focus on supplier KPI's, further developing and utilising vendor score cards for effective decision making.
Coaching and developing the team in all aspects of effective vendor management and relationship management.
Working cross-functionally with key business areas such as Operations, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain Management.
Responsibilities: Managing up to 8 buyers at any one time Annual spend £15-20 million pounds review all aspects of performance from your supplier base and to issue monthly reports detailing actions taken to obviate any failures or threats to the business; this would include Adverse Purchase Price Variance, Adverse OTIF and PPM Essential Experience and Qualifications: · Degree in either Business, Economics, Purchasing, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline (2.1 or above). · MCIPS Qualified. · Proven track record of delivering cost savings without compromising on quality and delivery. · Compliance focused used to working in and with ISO regulated organisations · Manufacturing / Electronics / Defence / Military / Aerospace background (ideally) Desirable: Experience of MAPICS XA also an advantage.
