Our client, an industry leading manufacturing business based close to Newbury, Berkshire are currently looking for a highly committed, talented and experienced Product Engineer. The successful Product Engineer will be accountable for processing customer enquiries and projects on a daily basis and overseeing the design to cost and design to manufacture processes.

Product Engineer duties:

Accountable for processing customer inquiries/projects (daily business), including:

• Efficient and fast response to customer inquiries.
• Design of products meeting the customer needs/specifications at expected market prices.
• Design of products according to Design Guidelines and Rules.
• Design-to-cost and design-to-manufacture.
• Lean inquiry process in participation with other departments (sales, process, calculation, etc.).
• Functional leadership of project teams, including the coordination of - and ensuring the - team activities.
• Frequent project reviews with project-teams, supervisor, production plant and customers.
• Participates in Product Development and innovation projects as a team member or project manager.
• Supports the Quality Department regarding design-related quality complaints.
• Is responsible for checking Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs) and their relevance on the design and validation activities for the projects that he / she is working on.

Required experience / qualification

• Degree or equivalent: Mechanical Engineering
• Engineering tools: GD&T, FMEA
• Project Management and APQP (PLC)
• Experienced with CREO design software
• Automotive background (ideally)
