Project & Design Engineer

Syntech Recruitment are pleased to offer this new vacancy for a long standing client that specialise in the aircraft safety industry. You will be responsible for the mechanical design, development and qualification of the tooling systems from concept to production with the focus on aerospace requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the tool and equipment list and ensure that it is complete and up to date as per departmental requirements
• Produce engineering reports
• Demonstrate competency in mechanical 3D CAD software Fusion 360 by working with complex and detailed drawings
• Create drawing packs- (BS888) for all in-house and external manufactured test rigs
• Act as a point of contact for the internal departments for all tooling and equipment requirements
• Provide technical assistance to the MRO departments with regards to test equipment
• Consult with and provide technical and engineering support within the group
• Assist with training in new equipment and systems for technicians
• Carry out fault finding on test rigs
• Fabricate/assemble equipment designed by the department for the workshop
• Stock management and overhaul of key components
• Complete CAD drawings for both internal and external fabrication

About you

• Degree/Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical Electronics Engineering
• High degree of competency in the use of CAD in Autodesk Inventor
• 1-2 years experience in technical or engineering experience in the design of products
• Commercially aware
• Machine workshop experience
• Good knowledge of the engineering process
• Excellent communication skills
• Sound IT skills
• Be able to work as a team
