About Us Syntech Recruitment are currently working with this prestigious client who are recruiting for an Purchasing Assistant to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and build on your career!! 

Role Overview They are seeking a Purchasing Assistant to support the Purchasing Manager in all procurement and supply chain activities. This role is integral in ensuring the sourcing of high-quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining strong supplier relationships. The successful candidate will also contribute to cost analysis, procurement reporting, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions from various departments, including Manufacturing, Production, R&D, and Accounts.
• Raise, monitor, and manage Purchase Orders using the ERP system (Sage 200) while tracking outstanding orders and deliveries.
• Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP) outputs and generate orders accordingly.
• Assist in supplier meetings, including negotiations on pricing and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate invoice filing and purchasing records, ensuring compliance with company Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Support the department’s efficiency by maintaining organized and effective purchasing processes.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
• A proactive, can-do attitude with excellent attention to detail.
• Solid organizational skills and ability to multitask efficiently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• A team player who can also work independently with initiative.
• Experience in ERP systems (Sage 200 or similar) is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving License preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable.
