Quality Inspector – Temporary Contract
 
Location: Co. Louth, Ireland 
Salary: €35,000 – €38,000 per annum (FTC)
Contract: Specified purpose for at least six months, with the possibility of a permanent contract
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, shift work may be required
 
Syntech Recruitment are partnering with our client to recruit a Quality Inspector for a specified purpose contract. This role involves conducting quality inspections in line with product quality plans to ensure high standards are maintained.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Conduct first-off, in-process, and final inspections in accordance with customer specifications and documented quality plans, ensuring checks are carried out accurately and recorded efficiently
• Approve in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating issues to production personnel
• Liaise with counterparts on other shifts to ensure continuity
• Participate in the training of personnel on quality-related matters
• Carry out new process and equipment approval sampling
• Identify non-conformances and failures and initiate corrective actions
• Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions implemented
• Contribute to continual improvement projects and teams
• Attend meetings as required
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workspace in line with 5S guidelines
• Undertake any other duties as reasonably required

 
Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role within an engineering environment
• Competency in using a range of precision inspection instruments, including callipers, gauges, and micrometres
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with both imperial and metric measuring systems
• Understanding of calibration systems for inspection equipment and gauges
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
