World class manufacturer to the motorsport and Automotive world are looking for an experienced Research and Development Test Manager to join the business on a permanent basis. We have set out the brief of the job role below.
Objective:
Ensuring that the department is able to complete all part build testing, initial build validation and development testing to schedule whilst ensuring the required levels of quality and output are achieved. This will include management of workflow, resourcing, planning rig & tooling maintenance and documentation updates. To support these objectives, you will be responsible for the management of several Technicians, their workload, hours, holiday and personal development.
What we need:
The successful candidate will require experience of managing and developing small & highly-technical teams whilst working in a pressured, unsupervised engineering environment, supported by experience of intradepartmental communication, reporting and planning.
Experience of basic mechanical and electrical assembly, equipment maintenance, machining knowledge, electronics and electrical experience, a good understanding of mechanical and electrical principles in automotive and motorsport vehicle systems along with having a working understanding of test practices, Prince 2, 5S and Kaizen principles.
Preferably the successful Test Manager will have working understanding of data logging concepts and material testing however this is not a must
