Senior NDT Technician
Location: Newbury, West Berkshire
Rate: £23-27 per hour (through umbrella)
Hours: 40 per week (standard days). Flexible to do the work over 4 days
Job Type: Contract - 3-6 months
An exceptionally busy manufacturing business in West Berkshire is seeking an additional Senior Level II NDT Technician to join on a contract basis.
The responsibilities of a level II NDT Technician:
- To process and manufacture components.
- To competently operate machinery within the department and in other departments if required.
- To undertake department processes in a controlled and timely manner.
- To adhere to department standards and create records including quality certificates and process sheets.
- To undertake personal development reviews training and assessments.
- To observe the Health and Safety rules at all times.
The profile of a of a level II NDT Technician:
- To inspect products during manufacture, ensuring compliance with customer, company and industry standards, using the following inspection techniques.
- Magnetic Particle Inspection (UVMPI)
- Etch Inspection (Nital Etch)
- Liquid Penetrant Inspection (UVLPI)
- To accurately record all certification requirements.
- To ensure examination equipment is in working order and calibrated before use to ensure readiness and compliance with company requirements.
Education, Qualifications and Training
- PCN / ASNT MT Level 2 or equivalent (E)
- Etch Inspection Level 2 or equivalent (E)
- PCN / ASNT PT Level 2 or equivalent (D)
Knowledge
- Magnetic Particle Inspection in motorsport, automotive or aerospace (E)
- Etch Inspection in motorsport, automotive or aerospace (E)
- Liquid Penetrant Inspection in motorsport, automotive or aerospace (D)
