Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical)

A key element of this expansion is the recruitment of a talented Project Engineer (Mechanical). This position is crucial for maintaining high standards in project delivery, ensuring quality, and adhering to environmental, health, and safety standards across all operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Project Handover: Attend Project Handover meetings to receive a comprehensive project package and develop the necessary QEHS (Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety) documentation.
- Design Review & Value Engineering: Conduct design reviews and value engineering exercises based on project documentation, recording all findings to ensure optimal project outcomes.
- Programme Development: Assist in the creation of a Programme of Works, ensuring project timelines are realistic and achievable.
- Procurement Collaboration: Work closely with the Procurement Manager to review and approve Plant Packages prior to ordering, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
- Coordination of Mechanical Services: Collaborate with the Site Manager/Project Manager to coordinate mechanical services and builders’ work drawings, ensuring seamless integration on site.
- Quality Assurance Management: Oversee the management and delivery of Quality Assured documents, ensuring all project documentation meets required standards.
- Document Control: Manage and control project documents, including but not limited to Drawings, RFIs, Technical Submittal Logs, Schedules, and QA Packs.
- Project Variations: Assist site management with project variations as necessary, ensuring any changes are documented and implemented effectively.
- O&M Development: Support the development and delivery of Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, ensuring they are comprehensive and aligned with project requirements.
- Commissioning Support: Assist in the production and revision of the commissioning programme, organise Specialist Subcontractor and Supplier attendance, manage their commissioning activities, and ensure all certifications are uploaded to the relevant file-sharing platforms and O&M systems.
- Adherence to Standards: Follow and adhere to internal templates and procedures for all works carried out, ensuring compliance with ISO standards 9001, 14001, and 45001.
Desired Criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Building Services.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering and Design.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in CAD and BIM, with strong IT and communication skills.
- Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Project Experience: Familiarity with project controls and the full project lifecycle.
- Personal Qualities: Motivated and highly dependable, with a strong work ethic.
- Additional Experience: Experience in energy systems and energy-saving analysis is advantageous, as is client-facing experience.
