Job Title: Service Engineer 
Location: Field-based, within 50 miles of Central London (Surrey, Sussex, Hertfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum + £2,000 location allowance (if within 50 miles of Central London)

• Overtime Rates: 1.33x Weekdays, 1.5x Saturdays, 2.0x Sundays & Bank Holidays

About the Role
Syntech Recruitment is working with a well-established company looking for multiple Service Engineer(s) with an electro/mechanical background. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team, working on special purpose machinery across various industries.

The role involves a mix of planned maintenance and reactive servicing, ensuring minimal downtime for customers. Our client provides full training, making this an excellent opportunity for engineers from automotive, manufacturing, food production, or similar industries to transition into the field service sector.

Service Engineer Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on high-tech machinery
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
• Provide technical advice and excellent customer service to clients
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery
• Maintain accurate service records and reports
• Stay up to date with the latest industry training and certifications

What We’re Looking For

• Strong electro/mechanical engineering background (experience in any sector considered)
• Previous experience in a field service role is highly desirable
• Ability to read schematics, fault-find, and carry out repairs
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to challenges in the field
• Full UK driving licence is essential
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients professionally
