Tooling Engineer

Salary: £40-45k
Hours of work: 39 per week (Half day Friday)
Bonus: 10% bonus scheme, BUPA

Syntech Recruitment are looking for a Tooling Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering business based in Newbury, West Berkshire.
As a Tooling Engineer, you will oversee co-ordination of Industrial and Manufacturing activities during projects and co-ordination of prototype tooling for new products. The successful applicant will need to have experience around Metal Forming and sheet metal.
The daily duties of a Tooling Engineering include:

• Co-ordination of Industrial and Manufacturing activities during Project phase, including process flows, routing, BOMs etc
• Preparation of PFMEA documents for new manufacturing processes
• Ensuring full process capability and KPIs are being met
• Preparation of technical specifications and standards for new tooling
• Defining tooling control standards, working practices, standard operating and maintenance procedures

The Profile of a successful Tooling Engineer

• Extensive Metal Forming experience required
• Manual & CNC Press experience required
• Sheet metal experience 1-3mm
• Proven experience gaining in the delivery of new tools for manufacturing
• Experience of continuous improvement tools such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma etc etc
• 2D/3D Cad modelling experience (CREO ideally)
