This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we, Syntech Recruitment Ltd, collect from you from third parties or that you provide to us, will be processed by us. Syntech Recruitment Ltd is referred to throughout as “we”, and “our”.

 

This privacy statement describes how we collect and use personal information about you during and after your working relationship with us, in accordance with GDPR. It applies to all clients, candidates and contractors.

 

We help individuals to find work and we are also an employer. Our core business activity is recruitment, we assist individuals in finding work with our hirer clients, whether this is directly or through supply by us, and we assist hirers in introducing or supplying the staff that they require. We also recruit staff to work for us to provide our recruitment services.

We take our obligations in respect of the privacy of personal data very seriously and we will only process personal information as detailed in this policy, unless we inform you otherwise.

Our legal basis for using your personal data

For a UK recruitment agency, the lawful basis is Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) rather than consent.

 

Personal data you may give us

 

You may give us personal data by filling in forms on our site or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you register to use our site, subscribe to our service, submit your CV (Curriculum Vitae) to us and when you report a problem with our site. Throughout your dealings with us, calls may also be monitored for training and quality purposes and on occasion these may be transcribed using automated note-takers.

  • A client
  • Other candidates
  • Online jobsites
  • Marketing databases
  • The public domain
  • Social Media
  • At interview
  • Conversations on the telephone or video conferencing (which may be recorded)
  • Notes following a conversation or meeting
  • Our websites and software applications

Please note that the above list is not exhaustive.

We use LinkedIn and job boards, online curriculum vitae libraries; and their affiliate partners as publicly available sources of personal data for recruitment purposes. We may also receive information about you by word of mouth, for example by a recommendation from a friend, former or current employer(s) or former or current colleague(s).

If you are a Candidate and we have obtained your personal data from a third party (such as an online job board), we will advise you of the source during our first communication with you.

 

How might we use your personal data?

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. The processing of your personal information may most commonly include:

  • Collecting and storing your personal data, whether in manual or electronic files
  • Notifying you of potential roles or opportunities
  • Use of business WhatsApp messaging for general communication and/or to notify you of job opportunities and/or to inform you of interview timings and confirmation
  • Assessing and reviewing your suitability for job roles
  • Introducing and/or supplying you to actual or potential Clients
  • Engaging you for a role with us or with our Clients including any related administration e.g. timesheets and payroll
  • Collating market or sector specific information and providing the same to our Clients
  • Sending information to third parties with whom we have or intend to enter into arrangements which are related to our Recruitment Services
  • For the purposes of ensuring the validity of right to work documents
  • Providing information to regulatory authorities or statutory bodies, and our legal or other professional advisers including insurers
  • To retain an accurate record of our dealings
  • To identify training needs
  • To ensure the Company is able to monitor and adhere to quality standards.

 

 

Your rights in connection with personal data

 

Under certain circumstances, by law you have the right to request correction of the personal data that we hold about you.

 

You also have the right to request deletion of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.

 

If you want to verify, correct, or request erasure of your personal information, object to the processing of your personal data, or request that we transfer a copy of your personal data to another party, please contact GDPR@syntechrecruitment.co.uk in writing
