Chemical Analyst (Rotating Shift) Salary: £37,500 – £42,500 per annum (including 25% shift uplift)
Location: Based 20 mins drive from Canterbury
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Rotating shifts: Early – 6am-2pm Mon-Fri / Late – 2pm-10.30pm Mon-Thur, 2pm-7.30pm Fri)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chemical Analyst to join a well-established manufacturing business. This role plays a key part in maintaining and controlling electroplating and metal finishing solution tanks, ensuring compliance with strict health, safety, and quality standards.
Chemical Analyst Responsibilities

• Conduct routine chemical analysis of solutions and materials.
• Maintain accurate quality records and documentation.
• Monitor and improve electroplating and metal finishing processes.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, including COSHH.
• Provide shop floor technical support, resolving plating-related issues.
• Manage hazardous waste disposal, including wastewater effluent system monitoring.
• Analyse production problems and implement corrective actions.

Ideal Candidate

• Degree or HND in Chemistry or a related field.
• Some experience or knowledge of industrial electroplating.
• Strong understanding of COSHH regulations and environmental permits.
• Methodical approach to process and product improvement.
• Ability to work a rotating shift pattern (6am-2pm / 2pm-10.30pm).
