Senior Assembly Technician

Location: Based near Leamington Spa, Warwickshire 
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week 

A leading engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Senior Assembly Technician to join their specialist team working on high-performance gearbox and axle assembly programmes. This role involves assembling complex mechanical and hydraulic systems to defined build plans while maintaining exceptional quality standards.

Senior Assembly Technician Responsibilities:

• Mechanical assembly and end-of-line testing of complex gearbox, axle, and hydraulic systems.
• Working to predefined build plans, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
• Supporting the team leader with planning, task prioritisation, and productivity targets.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and quality investigations.
• Assisting in the development of team skills through knowledge sharing and training.

Key Skills and Experience Required:

• Strong mechanical assembly background, ideally in gearbox or powertrain environments.
• Proficient in the use of measurement equipment (e.g., verniers, micrometers).
• Familiarity with problem-solving tools such as 8D, and experience contributing to cross-functional quality investigations.
• Ability to train others to a set standard and support team development.
• Good time management and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality, health and safety procedures.
