About the Role Syntech Recruitment are working with a client who are seeking a driven and experienced Paint Shop Cell Leader to join theie manufacturing team. This is a key leadership role where you’ll oversee day-to-day operations within the paint department. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow, production efficiency, and quality control, while fostering a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Paint Shop team to meet daily production targets and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other cell leaders to ensure a seamless workflow through the department.
• Plan and optimize use of materials, labor, and equipment for maximum efficiency.
• Implement and uphold lean manufacturing principles, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective communication of production goals, schedules, and priorities to the team.
• Monitor staffing levels and support workforce planning to meet production requirements.
• Carry out performance reviews, identify training needs, and support team development.
• Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping in line with 7S principles.
• Manage inventory levels of paints and materials, ensuring stock accuracy and BOM (Bill of Materials) updates.
• Oversee purchasing requirements for raw materials and consumables.
• Support budget planning and departmental cost control.
• Address day-to-day personnel matters, including scheduling, leave planning, and performance issues.
• Ensure all operations comply with internal quality and safety standards.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of wet and powder painting processes.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations in a production environment.
• Experience managing departmental budgets and inventory systems.
