This role is based in Wrexham and is commutable from Ellesmere Port, Chester, Rhyl, Crewe and surrounding areas. The factory is located 5 minutes off the A483.

Syntech Recruitment are working with a client who are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior Certification Engineer to support the assessment, testing, and certification of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. This role plays a vital part in ensuring products meet international hazardous area compliance standards, including ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and the IECEx scheme.

Senior Certification Engineer Duties:

• Perform detailed technical assessments and conformity evaluations for EX equipment.
• Interpret and apply IEC 60079 series standards and other relevant regulatory documents.
• Liaise with manufacturers to support their compliance journey from design to certification.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IECEx/ATEX certification within a testing or notified body environment.
• Familiarity with product compliance processes for explosive atmospheres.
• In-depth understanding of IEC 60079 standards for explosion protection.
• Practical knowledge of Ex protection concepts such as:
