MIG Welder

Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum (up to £15ph starting)
Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire (20-minute drive from Oxford)
Hours: Monday–Friday (day shift)
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are seeking a hands-on MIG Welder to join a growing engineering manufacturer near Abingdon. This is a brilliant opportunity for a welder looking for stability, daily variety, and the chance to earn an industry-recognised MIG welding coding — fully paid for by the company.

MIG Welder Benefits:

• £28,000 – £31,000 annual salary (depending on experience)
• Overtime available at 1.5x basic rate

MIG Welder Responsibilities:

• Carrying out MIG welding to a coded standard (training and certification provided)
• Fabricating, tacking, and plasma cutting various metal components
• Manufacturing specialist tooling when required
• Maintaining a zero-defect approach to welding quality
• Performing daily maintenance and keeping the welding area organised
• Identifying equipment issues and suggesting process improvements
• Supporting other departments with fabrication tasks when necessary

Requirements:

• Proven experience in MIG welding in a manufacturing, structural or fabrication setting
• Ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings
• Physically capable of lifting loads up to 20kg as part of daily duties
• TIG welding experience would be an advantage but not essential
