Location: Coventry, West Midlands
Type: 6 month + contract            
Rate: £14.25 per hour + Holiday pay (£1.72 per hour)
Plenty of overtime available
Hours: Monday to Friday – standard days (40 hours per week)
Syntech Recruitment are partnered with a defence powerhouse, and we are on the lookout for a number of Mechanical Fitter’s with experience in high-precision, low-volume assembly. Join a specialist manufacturing team in Coventry, contributing to the build and refinement of bespoke mechanical systems used in advanced vehicle platforms and innovative R&D projects.
 
Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities:

• Assemble complex mechanical systems to tight tolerances.
• Use hand tools, torque equipment, and fitting jigs with accuracy and care.
• Interpret technical drawings and build instructions to deliver consistent results.
• Perform visual and dimensional checks to ensure all builds meet required specs.
• Collaborate with quality and production teams to maintain build integrity.
• Drive adherence to lean principles and support process improvements on the shop floor.

Mechanical Fitter Knowledge:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in a precision or bespoke manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and follow complex engineering drawings and build manuals.
• Strong mechanical knowledge including assembly, alignment, and test/fit of components.
• Passion for hands-on work and a commitment to high standards.
