Salary: £45,000–£50,000 per annum

Hours: Full-time, permanent

Syntech Recruitment are supporting a precision engineering manufacturer near Abingdon in their search for a skilled Quality Engineer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality-related matters.
  • Support manufacturing by identifying and reporting quality shortfalls.
  • Train operators in inspection techniques and equipment use.
  • Manage measurement and test equipment calibration systems.
  • Produce inspection reports, trend analyses, and quality documentation packs.
  • Lead non-conformance and customer complaint investigations using 8D/5Why methodologies.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits, driving process improvements.
  • Translate customer quality requirements into detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • Create Quality Control Plans and LTQRS for specific customer projects.

Quality Engineer Profile:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Quality Engineering or similar technical role.
  • A Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent technical background.
  • Strong understanding of inspection techniques and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience with non-conformance management, calibration systems, and audits.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence in training others.
  • Knowledge of CMMs (PC-DMIS) is a distinct advantage but not essential.
