We’re working with a leading aerospace manufacturer that designs and builds critical safety systems used across the world’s most advanced aircraft. They’re now looking for a Mechanical Inspector to join their inspection team at their facility near Uxbridge.

This is a hands-on inspection role where you’ll carry out product verification of precision components, ensuring they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You’ll play a key role in maintaining compliance and efficiency across the production schedule, supporting both manufacturing and quality operations.

Mechanical Inspector Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspection and testing of components using a range of measurement tools and techniques.

  • Verify products against engineering drawings and technical documentation.

  • Generate and maintain accurate inspection documentation.

  • Use SAP to record work in progress, track batches, and log non-conformances.

  • Ensure all inspection equipment is correctly calibrated and maintained.

  • Contribute to 5S and continuous improvement initiatives across the department.

  • Handle and store components carefully to prevent damage and ensure traceability.

  • Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and quality standards.

Mechanical Inspector Profile

  • Previous mechanical inspection experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Confident in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

  • Skilled in the use of inspection tools and measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges).

  • Strong numeracy, geometry, and attention-to-detail skills.

  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.

  • Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office and SAP).

  • Experience with CMMsGD&T, or AS9102 FAIRs would be advantageous.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English; an engineering apprenticeship is preferred.
