CNC Turner

Syntech Recruitment are working with a specialist precision manufacturing client in Surrey to recruit a CNC Turner on a 3-month contract. This is a setting and operating role, running precision components to tight tolerances in exotic and high-performance materials within a high-spec engineering environment. This role reports to the Machine Shop Manager.

CNC Turner (Setter / Operator) Duties

• Set and operate CNC turning machines from existing programs

• Manufacture components to tight tolerances (typically within microns)

• Run batch sizes of up to 500 components

• Work with exotic materials such as Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy, Duplex and other alloys

• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds

• Conduct in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment

• Ensure all parts meet quality standards

• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments

• Follow safety procedures

CNC Turner (Setter / Operator) Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner

• Experience setting and operating CNC turning machines

• Experience machining exotic materials and difficult alloys

• Ability to machine complex components to tight tolerances

• Experience running production batches

• Understanding of tooling and machining strategies

• Experience with inspection and quality processes

• High attention to detail

• Available for an immediate or short-notice start

What’s on Offer

• 40-hour working week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:30

• Overtime available when agreed and authorised in advance
