5 Axis CNC Miller – Programmer

Location: Longford, Republic of Ireland
Salary: €45,000 – €50,000 per annum
Overtime: Paid at 1.5x basic rate
Hours: Days-based, 40 hours

A well-established precision engineering business in Longford is seeking an experienced 5 axis CNC Miller to join their high-performing team. Known for their ability to deliver complex, tight-tolerance components to leading manufacturers across multiple industries, this is a business investing in cutting-edge machinery and long-term staff development.

As part of their CNC milling team, you’ll be working on Matsuura machines and programming via SolidCAM – though the team are open to individuals with experience using any CAM system and any 5-axis machine platform.

5 Axis CNC Miller Responsibilities:

• Program, set and operate 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Produce high-precision components to customer specifications
• Use CAM software (SolidCAM or equivalent) for CNC programming
• Interpret technical drawings and follow tight tolerances
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and quality
• Work overtime as needed, paid at time and a half

5 Axis CNC Miller Profile:

• Proven background in 5-axis CNC milling
• Confident in offline programming using any CAM package (e.g. SolidCAM, Fusion 360, Hypermill, MasterCAM)
• Experienced in producing small batch and complex components
• Strong understanding of precision engineering principles
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Matsuura experience advantageous but not essential
