Accounts Assistant

Syntech Recruitment are working with a specialist client to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their Finance Team at their Head Office in Santry, Dublin 9. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will provide key support across the month-end process and wider finance function within a growing business.

Accounts Assistant Duties

• Provide back-up support to the month-end process, including all relevant reconciliations to Trial Balance stage
• Implement internal control improvements required to support a growing business
• Monitor key performance indicators across all business locations
• Monitor stock levels and carry out monthly stock takes
• Support the Engineering Manager in producing monthly cashflows and analysis of contract profitability on current projects
• Complete RCT and VAT/Intrastat submissions to Irish Revenue
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register
• Implement IT enhancements required for Sage financial systems
• Support the Financial Controller in producing monthly financial reporting templates, budgets and other ad hoc financial reporting duties

Accounts Assistant Requirements

• Part-Qualified ACCA Student (2–3 papers completed) or a qualified Accounting Technician pursuing their ACCA exams
• A minimum of 3–5 years’ accounting experience in accounts payable and at assistant accountant level
• Very good Excel skills (important)
• Sage experience (beneficial)
• Experience in a similar industry sector (preferred)
• Previous audit background (advantage)
• IT systems implementation experience (advantage)
• Revenue recognition experience

Additional Information

• The role is based at the Santry central office, with at least 1–2 days per week expected at a secondary site location
