As a company committed to innovation, quality, and employee development, they are now looking to expand their skilled team with the addition of an experienced CNC Setter Programmer.

 

CNC Setter Programmer responsibilities: 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to further your CNC career in a progressive and technology-led environment.

You will:

  • Develop and modify CNC programs using CAD/CAM software
  • Set up CNC machines, select appropriate tooling, and prepare fixtures
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and models
  • Perform first-off and in-process inspections to verify component accuracy
  • Troubleshoot machine and programming issues to maximise efficiency
  • Maintain clear documentation of machine settings, programs, and changes
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and quality teams
  • Mentor and guide junior machinists as needed
  • Carry out routine maintenance and support preventative measures
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, AS9100, and company quality standards

 

CNC Setter Programmer Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in 5-axis CNC machining
  • Strong understanding of G-code, M-code, and CNC programming principles
  • Experience with Mazak, DMG Mori, or Chiron machinery (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Hypermill or Heidenhain controllers (advantageous)
  • Competency in part inspection using calipers, micrometers, and CMMs
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A valid work permit and current residence in Ireland
