Syntech Recruitment are working with a well-established electronics manufacturing business in Fife that supplies high-quality products into medical, defence, industrial and space sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their test and repair team with the addition of a Test Debug Technician.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys diagnosing faults, repairing PCB assemblies, and working closely with engineering and production teams to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.

The Role

As a Test Debug Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, fault-finding and repairing electronic assemblies within a busy manufacturing environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Fault-finding and debugging electronic PCB assemblies
  • Repairing products down to component level
  • Working from test results, schematics and technical documentation
  • Identifying root causes of failures and implementing effective repairs
  • Supporting production test operators and engineers with technical issues
  • Providing feedback on recurring faults and potential process improvements
  • Ensuring products meet specification before shipment
  • Helping reduce scrap and rework through accurate diagnosis and repair
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities across production and test functions

About You

We would like to hear from candidates with:

  • Previous experience as a Test Technician, Debug Technician, Electronics Technician or similar
  • Proven experience fault-finding PCB assemblies to component level
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics
  • Experience working within an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on approach and strong attention to detail
