Syntech Recruitment are proud to be supporting a market-leading engineering business in their search for a Field Service Engineer to join their expanding service team covering North and East London, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically or mechanically biased engineer who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems and travelling to customer sites.
You’ll be installing, servicing, fault finding and commissioning a range of specialist industrial equipment across customer sites, with excellent earning potential through uncapped overtime, callouts and standby payments.
Up to £20.00 per hour (£41,600 per annum)
Door-to-door pay after 40 hours
Uncapped overtime available
Time & 1/3 overtime after 40 hours and for the first 4 hours on Saturdays
Double time before 6am, after the first 4 hours on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays
Standby payment of £120 per on-call week
Additional callout bonuses of up to £50 per callout

Carrying out installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of specialist industrial equipment
Fault finding on electrical, mechanical and control systems
Commissioning new equipment at customer sites
Conducting planned preventative maintenance visits
Completing detailed electronic service reports using a tablet or mobile device
Conducting customer site surveys and producing technical reports
Participating in a 24/7 callout rota
Working across customer sites throughout North and East London, Hertfordshire and Essex, with occasional overnight stays
Providing a professional, customer-focused service at all times
Previous Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer experience
Time-served apprenticeship in electrical, mechanical or controls engineering desirable
Strong fault finding and repair experience
Electrical, mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering background
Full UK driving licence
Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
Strong communication and customer service skills
Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Flexible approach to travel, overtime and occasional overnight stays
Able to obtain security clearance
British Passport required
