Group Accountant

Duration: Up to 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Close to Guildford, Surrey
Pro Rata Salary: £45,000 per annum + Production Bonus

Syntech Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Group Accountant to join a well-established, multi-entity manufacturing business on a 3–6 month fixed term contract.

This is a hands-on role within a complex manufacturing environment, requiring strong stock, WIP and cost accounting expertise, alongside multi-entity consolidation experience. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute immediately and support improved financial control, reporting accuracy and commercial insight across the Group.

Group Accountant Responsibilities

Month-End & Financial Reporting

• Support and deliver accurate month-end close processes
• Prepare monthly management accounts for assigned entities
• Maintain accurate stock, WIP and cost accounting
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

Group Consolidation & Analysis

• Consolidate financial results across multiple legal entities
• Deliver variance analysis against budget and forecast
• Provide clear commentary on financial performance, trends and risks
• Identify cost control opportunities and operational efficiencies

Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102)
• Maintain accurate intercompany accounting
• Strengthen financial controls and process consistency

Group Accountant Requirements

• Qualified or Qualified by Experience Accountant
• Strong background in manufacturing finance
• Extensive experience with stock, WIP and cost accounting
• Proven multi-entity consolidation experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• ERP system experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
• Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders
