Syntech Recruitment are partnering with an industrial engineering contractor to recruit Heavy Industrial Fitters for a major mechanical installation project in Limerick.

This role will involve installation, assembly and alignment of large industrial equipment within a structured site environment.

Heavy Industrial Fitter Responsibilities
· Carry out mechanical installation of heavy industrial equipment
· Assemble, align and fit large mechanical components
· Work from engineering drawings and technical specifications
· Support maintenance and repair activities on-site
· Assist with commissioning and system installation
· Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
· Maintain high standards of workmanship
· Work within structured site and permit systems
· Ensure all work is completed right-first-time

Heavy Industrial Fitter Requirements
· Trade qualified — Mechanical Fitter, Fitter/Turner or equivalent apprenticeship
· Minimum 5 years heavy industrial fitting experience
· Experience in at least one of: power generation, oil & gas, petrochem, heavy process plant, port/marine infrastructure, steel manufacturing or large-scale industrial construction
· Proven experience fitting and aligning large rotating or static equipment — pumps, compressors, gearboxes, vessels, heat exchangers or structural mechanical assemblies
· Confident reading and interpreting mechanical engineering drawings, P&IDs and technical specifications
· Permit to Work systems — familiar and compliant
· Manual handling, working at height, confined space awareness
· Strong commitment to health and safety
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Available for an immediate or short-notice start

Highly Desirable
· Pipefitting experience — flanged and welded connections
· Welding ability — MIG/MMA for tack and repair work
· Experience on structured EPC or major capital projects
· Rigging and slinging awareness — working with cranes and lifting equipment
· CSCS / Safe Pass / relevant site safety card
· LEEA or slinger/signaller ticket a bonus
