Production & Operations Manager

Location: Co. Tyrone
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Syntech Recruitment are partnering with our client to find an experienced Operations Manager to oversee production processes, drive operational efficiency, and lead a skilled manufacturing team. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a focus on continuous improvement to ensure production targets are met efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring output meets quality and efficiency targets.
  • Assist the Production Planner in implementing schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop the production team to achieve performance goals.
  • Implement and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, SHEQ, and Quality teams to streamline operations.
  • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and manage drivers’ hours of service.
  • Develop and implement transport policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and waste minimisation.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and production planning to support business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage employee relations, performance, and policy compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production management role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and quality control systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in production planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft 365.
  • A degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
  • Experience in the heavy machinery or industrial equipment industry.
