Salary: Competitive

Our market leading client is seeking a proactive and reliable Stores Operative to support its logistics and manufacturing functions near Hailsham. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

Stores Operative Responsibilities:

  • Pick, kit, and deliver Work Orders (WOs) efficiently to designated areas
  • Decant and prepare materials in a ready-to-use state
  • Transport stock between supermarkets, cells, and stores
  • Monitor material levels and adjust stock holdings as needed
  • Receive, book in, and put away materials
  • Dispatch goods, complete paperwork, and support with logistics coordination
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels through daily perpetual cycle counts
  • Prepare and deliver spare kits, component orders, and materials for external suppliers
  • Support 5S activities within the Stores and across supply chain zones
  • Assist with clean and safe manual handling of materials
  • Participate in the construction of cells and offline support where needed
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety policies
  • File documentation including packing notes, requisition slips, and WOs

Stores Operative Requirements:

  • Experience in a Stores or Material Handling role
  • Basic IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and ERP experience
  • Fit and active with safe manual handling awareness
  • Familiar with warehouse processes and working in fast-paced environments

Desirable Experience:

  • Forklift licence
  • Understanding of Lean practices like 5S, DLF, Kanban, and VOMI
  • Ability to operate basic cutting equipment
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
