Technical Engineering Manager

Location: Clondalkin Dublin
Salary: €80,000 – €85,000 + Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
Start Date: ASAP

Syntech are supporting a well-established engineering organisation in their search for a Technical Engineering Manager to lead technical standards, system design oversight, and product validation across a broad range of HVAC and mechanical solutions. The role requires a strong technical thinker who can ensure compliance, accuracy, and high-quality delivery across multiple internal teams including engineering, estimation, product management, and sales.

 

Technical Engineering Manager Responsibilities

  • Lead, uphold, and continuously improve all internal technical standards.
  • Oversee system design across mechanical/HVAC projects.
  • Develop and maintain a full technical library covering product ranges, schematics, and engineered solutions.
  • Validate and quality-check technical designs, layouts, calculations, and product selections prior to submission.
  • Lead packaged plant room layouts through design, coordination, and final sign-off.
  • Prepare and issue technical submittals for approval.
  • Act as the main technical point of contact for internal teams.
  • Oversee and guide the production of system schematics and technical drawings.
  • Act as the senior “technical authority” for engineers and product specialists.
  • Produce KPI reporting across technical functions.
  • Ensure correct use of regulatory tools, compliance software, and industry-standard processes.

 

Technical Engineering Manager Experience

  • Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Refrigeration engineering qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong technical background across HVAC, heat pumps, chillers, or mechanical building services.
  • Experience in a technical, design, quality, or engineering leadership role.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical engineering tools/software.
  • Full right to work and reside in Ireland on a permanent basis
