This role is responsible for the strategic and operational management of Indirect Commodities. You will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies to achieve key performance goals (KPIs) aligned with the company's strategic objectives. This is a Hybrid position but expect to spend around 3 days a week in the office, the role is based around Iver Heath, Bucks.
The Role
We seek an Indirect Commodity Manager with demonstrably deep expertise in Facilities Management (FM) and Production/Manufacturing. You'll assume responsibility for the strategic sourcing and management of all indirect commodities, guaranteeing we achieve the best possible value for every pound spent.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Become our Indirect Commodity Guru: Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to address indirect commodity expenditure across the organisation, aligning them with our overarching company objectives.
  • Cost Reduction & Risk Management Expertise: Negotiate watertight contracts with suppliers, proactively manage risk, and continuously refine our procurement processes to optimise efficiency for indirect commodities.
  • Lead the Indirect Commodity Charge: Take complete ownership of all indirect commodity procurement activities, overseeing everything from supplier selection to meticulous contract management.
  • Empower a World-Class Indirect Commodity Team: Lead and develop your team, ensuring they possess the requisite skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Communication is Paramount: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers at all levels, fostering a culture of informed and aligned decision-making.
  • The Ideal Candidate:
  • Adept Indirect Commodity Manager (FM & Manufacturing Focus): You possess a demonstrably successful track record of managing indirect commodity expenditure within a manufacturing environment or a demonstrably similar industry.
  • Contract Negotiation Authority: You possess extensive experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts for a variety of commodities and services.
  • Procurement Powerhouse: You possess a thorough understanding of best practices and processes within the procurement landscape.
  • Negotiation Acumen: You can dissect legal jargon with ease and negotiate contracts with exceptional skill.
  • Data Savvy Communicator: You can analyse data with proficiency and translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Proven Team Leader: You can inspire and lead your team to achieve remarkable results.
  • Supplier Relationship Maestro: You have a talent for building strong, strategic relationships with suppliers.
  • Desirable Attributes:
  • MCIPS Membership: Being a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
