Manufacturing Engineer (Press tools)

Salary: £40k - £45k

Hours of work: 8am - 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am - 1pm Friday (39 hours)

Job Type: Permanent

Location: Newbury, West Berkshire

Syntech Recruitment are looking for Manufacturing Engineer to join a highly regarded engineering business based in Newbury, West Berkshire.

As a manufacturing engineer, you will oversee the creation and introduction of new press tooling and manage the integration of the new tooling to the manufacturing process.

Your daily duties as a press tool manufacturing engineer will include:

Managing the new press tooling design, creation and integration projects

Conducting prototype tooling trials for all new products and processes

Creation of PFMEA documentation

Preparation of Capex requests

Preparation of technical specifications and standards for new press tooling

Defining new working processes, procedures and practices for all newly introduced tooling

The successful press tool manufacturing engineer may have some of the following attributes, skills, knowledge or experience:

University educated in an engineering related field

Previous experience with delivering new press tooling for manufacturing

Knowledge of continuous improvement tools including - Lean, Kaizen, 5S & Six Sigma

Some exposure to 3D design and modelling with CAD (ideally CREO)

Prior toolmaking experience (Apprenticeship or on the job training)
